Recycled PET (RPET)
Polyethylene terephthalate, commonly abbreviated PET, is a thermoplastic polymer resin of the polyester family.
This material is being commonly used for bottles and containers, but its excessive production has severely compromised our planet.
By recycling this material we are giving a second purpose to something that has been already produced and most importantly we are cleaning the waste of PET in our seas and lands.
There are many other advantages when it comes to sustainability regarding Recycled PET:
- lower carbon footprint compared to virgin PET.
- its low weight helps to cut transportation pollution.
- it helps decrease the amount of plastic waste that enters landfills
- it decreases resource extraction, which protects the natural landscapes
